If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and prove to be my disciples. 

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?...but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

if you ever prayed to God to shape you more like Him, he will do it. for sure. He is currently putting me to through many situations where my patience is tested and refined to another level. it has not been pleasant. either i become extremely short-tempered in the midst of the situations, or i just feel extremely guilty for being so impatient after the situations. emotions are just out of control, frustrations are everywhere! but as i sit down and think about the reason for my impatience, i can think of nothing but the fact that God putting me through those situations to test me and to discipline me.

it is as if God is telling me, yes, im putting you through this because im sanctifying you to be more like me and preparing you for the work that i have for you in the future. i know you are failing because out of your sinful nature you are not capable to change for the better, but this is not a one-man show. you are supposed to rely on me throughout the process. it is I who sanctify, not you who are trying to improve because only I have the power to do so, so rely on me and trust in me, realizing the shortcomings of yourself and adoring in the infinite goodness and holiness of me, who are changing your heart. continue to draw closer, i will walk you through this.
