emotional roller coasters are never fun, whether it be for yourself or others around you. for females, you probably experience this once a month. i have disciplined myself in terms of keeping the ride mild for the longest time, yet this past week was an extremely thrilled ride, worrying many around me. though it was probably because of a eventful and stressful day, i cannot help but to conclude that there shouldnt be any excuses to a thrilled ride, letting biological causes to control how i feel inside and how i act outside.
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." (1Peter 1:13-16)
as part of sanctification, of becoming more like Christ, of holy living, being sober-minded is one of the first steps (other than preparing a mind for action) for the revelation of who Christ is, His hope that comes from His grace. the transformation of mindset is necessary for sanctification, conforming to the image of Christ. being sober-minded, knowing clearly the grace of God and how we should respond (glorifying Him in everything that we do, e.g. 1Corinthians 10:31), therefore, should be an active effort of all time. of course its not going to be easy task, but blaming biological causes on letting emotions take control over my actions is a bad excuse.
