numerous mentions on something like this: "a lot of guys would like you" or "a lot of guys were fond of you" (exact quotes btw....), really put me in the embarrassing spot, even though they often link back to my "personality and characters". of course a following up question like "dating yet?" or "have boyfriend?" would serve as the climax of those kind of conversations. resolution? well, when they find out the reality of "not dating" and "no boyfriend" somehow seems to be a tragic endings to them and drives to the conclusion of "well, you never know..."
for the first couple times, it was quite awkward, and i would just laugh it off without thinking much. after many times from different people, i began to wonder whether those statements are true. basic logic have something like this: if A, then B. if B, then C. if C is not true, then either A or B is true. using the same logic, i would come to the conclusion of something is wrong with me. of course im far from being perfect, there are still too many bad habits, sins that im still struggling with, weaknesses that still cant be overcome. but because of the conclusion from the analysis, i started picking out all those things that i just mentioned, and obviously when you start doing that, you find yourself completely worthless because by definition we are all tainted with sins, dirty and worthless.
thats not my point though. what God has revealed to me is that instead of picking your own sores, why dont you fix your eyes on Christ? stop looking at yourself as if you are still the same person before i made myself known to you, you are a new creation. and im working with you and within you, so that you will become more like me as you draw closer to me. pay attention and see how im working in you. now look and realize that the goodness in you is only a little part of me. if only those can blow your mind away already, just imagine how much more goodness are in me!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2Corinthians 5:17)
worship and praise are the only and proper responses.
