obey God's will = loving Him

havent updated for a couple days... didnt really do anything for the past couple of days since i didnt have work, except i've been playing tennis with wendy and i turned so dark already.... it's just beginning of june... im gonna be like 72% dark chocolate by the end of summer... =P

i was reading the story of david in 1samuel yesterday, and it just opened by eyes so much how david obeyed the authorities above him because of his desire to please God. though both saul and achish send him away for the reasons that were definitely not his fault, he still accepted them and obeyed. i was just thinking how heartbreaking it was for david, knowing that he didnt do anything wrong but yet was accused by people around him, especially by the ones that he had been serving faithfully. but i guess he knew that ultimately he was serving God rather than the earthly lords, and that God is in total control over his life. thats why he wasnt really worry or lost sight of God even though it was hard for him.

and then i was reading psalm 33, and i came across this part of the passage:

18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death

and keep them alive in famine.
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;

he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,

for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,

even as we put our hope in you.

i remember i was praying before i read, that God would just give me a clear answer on what i should be doing, and when i came across both the story of david and psalm 33, i was just amazed, and kind of shocked too because it wasnt what i had expected honestly. and the answer is just so clear that it kind of jump out from the Bible. this part of the psalm kind of talks about those who fear the Lord and put their hopes in Him, that God will surely watch over them even in deathly situations. God will also be the help and shield that can protect us when we wait with the hope in Him, knowing that He will provide all that we need and He has a plan for us. our hearts, at the same time, will have peace and joy when we put our trust in Him, realizing that He loves us no matter what, and His love will never fail as we wait with hope in Him. and all these reminded me this other verse:

"This is love for God: to obey his commands. " -1 John 5:3

as children of God, we are called to love Him with all our hearts, all our souls, all our minds, and all our strengths. and one of the basic way to show that we love God is to obey His commands. so even though it is against my own heart and will, i will try my best to obey Him, for this is the way to show my love to Him. and so far, i can feel the peace and joy in my heart, and knowing that it is the right thing to do just make me smile sometimes. =]

One Response so far.

hmm continuation of ur last blog?
    i like the last part
"so far, i can feel the peace and joy in my heart, and knowing that it is the right thing to do just make me smile sometimes. =]"
thats trueeeeeeeee and like when u go against God's will everytime u get hurt...like i learned from experience...but then again yea...

the main point to obey God is not cuz u know ur gonna get hurt, but because like u said...because u love God. and u want to honor Him and u glorify God that way too cuz it shows that God is just that important, God is just that great, and He means so much to u that ur willing to go out of your way or willing to release ur hearts desire for Him. God deserves that, He deserves the honor that He's due

    i like that verse too
"This is love for God: to obey his commands. " -1 John 5:3

this kind of reminds of oil too...like at the end when we had those cards...

"God doesn't want to be included in your plans; He wants you to be included in His plan"

haha but anyways, its good that u have that peace and joy =D and just to add more encouragement, since u love God u know?

    Romans 8:28
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

haha but im not sure if they still relate XD
