For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:4-6)

Remembering the past is something that can be continuously haunting. Some would put it as living in the past, others would simply think of them as nightmares, you can put it aside once you wake up. I fear the possibility of re-occurrence, that whatever recorded in my memories would fail to become instruction for the future and I would make the same mistakes again. I guess this is where God comes in, that we would trust Him above all other things, even beyond our own understanding and wisdom that were revealed by God from the mistakes in the past. That would be the only way that we can have hope, simply trusting that God is sovereign over all of our lives, that He has conquered death and sin for our sake, that His grace and love surpass everything.

Reciting and meditating on Proverbs 3:5-6 might help ease up my fear, at least that's what calmed my soul last night.
