- God as the creator and sovereign over nature
during the camping trip, we finally got the chance to completely get away from technology and civilization. well, most of the time. we were left with nature, and of course, some tents, tarps, charcoals, toilet holes, and a bunch of sand. temperature was perfect, it was a bit chilly in the beginning, but it got warmer later on. we might have gotten attacked by ponies, but we were alive except with some lost in our pantry. wind added lots of flavors in our food (you should try our sandwiches!!), on top of the process of making food (please refer to our tarp system)! but what amazes me the most was gazing at stars in sky and watching lightening on the side while listening to the waves. though each of them is so much bigger, so much more powerful than us, they behave exactly the way God created them. we were able to see, enjoy, and marvel at all of them at the same time because God has sustained the universe, given orders to nature. He not only created, but also sustained, and continuously do so. humans are different, God put them above all other things, created them in His own image and loved them so much, yet we dont behave the way God intended for us to, or rather, we werent force to like robots for the very same reason. but if the nature fears God and behaves exactly the way He intended to, how much more should we conform to His will because we are loved and we know that we are loved?When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8:3-9) - God is faithful and caring
survived from ponies attacks, twice. able to cook and eat after many difficulties, three times. shielded from thunderstorms from 2 sides, plus enjoying the grand designs of God, what more can we say that God took care of us during those 3 days? keys got locked into the car along with all the food, help came very shortly and without any difficulties, everything was resolved smoothly. with some planning, whole trip went on smoothly, no accidents, no incidents, no one got injured, no one got too sick, no one got lost, no one got kidnapped. everyone (at least from what i saw) got the opportunity to fellowship with each other and with God at the same time. that was the whole point of the trip, and God is faithful to fulfill His will and plan. - body of Christ only unites in Christ
tarp system was the best way to bonding. seriously. in the verge of being so blown by the wind physically and emotionally, setting up tarps around the grills, bearing with one another, be hungry together, to fanning the sparks, rotating roles, cooking, putting burgers and hotdogs together, feeding each other, by God's grace, we were able to fellowship in "hardship". compare to true "hardships", that probably wasnt even close to hardship, but i think it was definitely a small trial given by God to unite us in the name of Christ. besides tarp system, seeing brothers and sisters serving each other, bearing with each other, rebuking in love with each other, encouraging each other, sharing with each other, everything revolves around Christ, and that is what unites us.
